Taylor Landers,
Color Guard Consultant
 Taylor
Landers is in his fourth year at Taylor High School. He was the assistant
Color Guard Director his first year and is in his second year as the Director of Color
Guard. As consultant to the Director, it is his responsibility to train
and develop the skills of incoming members to uphold the high standards
of the James E. Taylor Color Guard program.
Mr. Landers earned his degree from the University of Houston in 2010
with an area of focus in Psychology and Sociology. At the University of
Houston, Mr. Landers was noted for achievements in his academic studies
and participated in several student-led organizations including the
Sociology Student Association.
Mr. Landers training and development for Color Guard includes: two years
at the scholastic level at Brazosport High School where they were
awarded the State Championship title in 2004; two years of Ballet and
Modern dance classes at the University of Houston; multiple years in
independent Color Guard organizations such as Fortitude (State
Champion runner-up 2006 & WGI Finalist 2006), Code Black (State
Champion 2007,2008,2009, WGI World Champions Open Class 2007 & WGI
Finalist 2008), Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corp (European tour 2006
& States tour 2007, DCI Finalist 2007 & 2008), and The Cavaliers
Drum and Bugle Corp. (2008 DCI World Class Bronze Medalist).
Under his direction the James E. Taylor Winter Guard program has won or
placed at several local contests and place 2nd at the Texas Color Guard
State Championships in 2009.
